Aged 19, Alison completed an Art foundation course at Heatherley School of Art, where she painted with her mouth.
At the age of 26, the Arts Faculty at The University of Brighton accepted Alison onto their degree course, their first ever disabled student. 3 years later she gained a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art.

When Alison was a teenager, she was invited to join the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists and she remains a full member today. As well as painting regularly for the MFPA Alison has had exhibitions of her own work in various countries including Korea, Switzerland and the UK.
In 2003, Alison received an MBE for services to Art and in 2014, she received an honorary doctorate from her alma mater.

London, October 2015
In October 2015, The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists put on a unique and unusual portrait exhibition.
This free art exhibition celebrating the talents of British icons from the worlds of sport, music and entertainment encompassed an unusual collection of paintings that focused on the mouth or foot for which each celebrity became famous.

The entire exhibition was dedicated to The Mouth and Foot Paintings Artists Board Member Trevor Wells who very sadly passed away in 2015. Over many years of membership his outstanding artwork and unique style adorned countless M.F.P.A. Cards and Calendars. He will be most sorely missed by his Mouth and Foot Painting friends, colleagues and countless of our customers across the world.
